On November 3, Microsoft announced that it had secured the necessary approvals to export NVIDIA chips to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). According to Microsoft, it became the inaugural company to be granted such an export license by the U.S. Department of Commerce during Donald Trump's tenure as president. The license, which was issued in September, incorporates enhanced and more rigorous technological safeguard protocols. Armed with this license, Microsoft is now authorized to export products boasting performance levels equivalent to 60,400 A100 chips. This includes the highly sought-after and more sophisticated GB300 graphics processor from NVIDIA, a development that has generated significant anticipation within the tech industry.
