On Monday, Microsoft announced its plan to export Nvidia's cutting-edge artificial intelligence chips to the United Arab Emirates (UAE). This move follows an agreement that has received the green light from the US Department of Commerce. Headquartered in Redmond, Washington, the renowned software giant revealed that the license, which was approved in September, comes with a set of rigorous safeguards. These measures will allow Microsoft to proceed with the shipment of over 60,000 Nvidia chips to data centers located in the UAE. Among these chips are the highly advanced GB300 Grace Blackwell models, produced by the California-based chipmaker.
