In October 2025, Jensen Huang, the CEO of NVIDIA, made his first visit to South Korea in 15 years. During this trip, he held meetings with Lee Jae-yong, the Chairman of Samsung Electronics, and Chung Eui-sun, the Chairman of Hyundai Motor Group. The purpose of these meetings was to foster deeper collaboration in the areas of memory technology and AI megafactories. During his stay, Huang shared a meal with the two chairmen at a fried chicken restaurant in Seoul. As a token of appreciation, he gifted them AI computers prominently featuring NVIDIA's DGX branding. In the meantime, Professor Kim Jung-Ho from KAIST in South Korea, renowned as the 'Father of HBM,' observed that the dominance in the AI landscape is gradually shifting from GPUs to memory solutions. He suggested that future GPUs will likely incorporate both HBM and HBF in a complementary architecture. This integration aims to overcome memory bottlenecks and cater to the immense storage requirements of AI models.
