Recently, the Russian tech channel 'Рома, Просто Рома' carried out real-world tests, which uncovered a substantial performance discrepancy between PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 5.0 interfaces in scenarios where video memory (VRAM) is in short supply. In contrast, an earlier test by 'TechPowerUp' found that the performance variance of the RTX 5090 across the two PCIe versions was a mere 1%, suggesting that the PCIe version exerts only a minimal influence on overall performance. When operating at 1080P, 2K, and 4K resolutions, the RTX 5090 experienced an average gaming performance decline of 1.07%, 1.29%, and 0.74%, respectively, when utilizing a PCIe 4.0 x16 interface, indicating virtually no performance bottleneck. In specific games, such as 'Black Myth: Wukong' and 'Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2', a relatively significant performance drop was observed at 1080P resolution; however, the performance gap at 2K and 4K resolutions was insignificant.
