The examination uncovered substantial cybersecurity vulnerabilities and latent risks (potential hazards) that could severely compromise the security of the supply chain for critical information infrastructure. According to pertinent regulations, Micron's products did not meet the required standards, resulting in a failed review. Consequently, domestic operators of critical information infrastructure were mandated to cease purchasing Micron's products.

In the wake of this decision, Micron has formulated plans to exit the data center server chip business in China. Two well-informed sources have disclosed that, given the business's inability to rebound from the ban, Micron has made the strategic decision to halt the supply of server chips to Chinese data centers.
