Based on extensive media coverage, TSMC intends to hike the price of its 2-nanometer chip fabrication process. This step could potentially drive some significant customers to opt for Samsung Electronics for cutting-edge chip foundry services. On Thursday, industry insiders disclosed that TSMC has already upped the prices for its 3-nanometer process. The foundry cost for Qualcomm's mobile application processors is projected to climb by roughly 16%, while that for MediaTek's chips is set to jump by 24%. Both of these price hikes are expected to affect the companies' financial results.
