A few days after releasing its new flagship model Gemini 4 Argon, Google announced an adjustment to its Gemini personal account access policy, significantly reducing the range of models available to free users. The new policy will take effect on October 9, 2026, and users who have not subscribed to Google AI's paid plan will only be able to use the Flash-Lite model, and will no longer be able to use the Gemini Flash and Gemini Pro models.
