Meta has launched the Muse Gadgets open-source project for its personal AI assistant product, Muse, aiming to open up hardware capabilities to developers. Developers can utilize tools such as the ESP32 development board or Linux SDK to create custom peripheral hardware devices for Muse. Meta officially provides various DIY reference forms, including colored e-ink screens, HDMI display extensions, and touch-controlled palm-sized pendants, along with detailed steps for developers to get started. Additionally, Meta has simultaneously introduced the official device, Muse Home Link, enabling Muse to connect to home networks and integrate with smart home devices. The first batch of 5,000 trial-produced Muse Home Link devices will be distributed for free to eligible Muse subscribers. After the project's launch, numerous developers have quickly DIYed various creative Muse peripherals. This move indicates that Meta hopes to transform Muse from a single official product into an extensible platform, while also showcasing a new industry trend in the AI Agent era: first providing Agent capabilities, then allowing developers to create diverse hardware carriers.
