On Friday, South Korea's Ministry of Finance announced its commitment to closely monitor and maintain stability in the domestic bond market, aiming to avert undue fluctuations. This move came after a meeting, presided over by Finance Minister Koo Yun-cheol, to evaluate the current state of the financial market. During the meeting, officials highlighted that interest rates continue to experience upward pressure, influenced by factors such as the heightened issuance of government bonds, increased bond offerings from global AI firms, anticipation of rate hikes in major economies, and escalating oil prices amid Middle Eastern tensions.
