Recently, a collaborative effort among the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the State Administration for Market Regulation, the Ministry of Commerce, and other relevant departments has resulted in the issuance of a set of national standards. These standards, formally titled "Grading of Intelligence for Artificial Intelligence Terminals (GB/Z 177—2026)," adopt a structured '2+N' framework. Within this framework, '2' signifies two fundamental components: Part 1, which outlines the Reference Framework, and Part 2, which specifies the General Requirements. These parts collectively clarify the definition of intelligence, its grading system, and the methodologies for testing. The 'N' element, on the other hand, denotes a series of tailored standards designed for various AI-enabled products, encompassing mobile phones, computers, televisions, smart glasses, car cabins, smart speakers, and earphones. The inaugural batch of standards encompasses these seven product categories, with intentions to expand and develop standards for additional categories in the future. This comprehensive standardization initiative establishes a unified evaluation system for AI terminals, steering the industry towards a path of standardized development and fostering an environment of orderly competition. Simultaneously, it empowers consumers to make well-informed choices and utilize products with confidence and peace of mind.
