According to 9to5Mac, OpenAI has recently introduced a new feature called Chronicle in the Mac version of the Codex app, available to Pro subscribers as a research preview. This feature builds a memory bank through screen recording, organizing the recorded content into summaries stored locally, with the original files automatically deleted after six hours. Users can enable the feature and authorize relevant permissions in the settings. OpenAI cautions that this feature rapidly consumes API call quotas, increases the risk of prompt injection attacks, and stores memory content without encryption.
