UK-based artificial intelligence startup CuspAI is in talks to raise at least $200 million in new funding. If successful, its valuation will exceed $1 billion, making it a "unicorn" company. Headquartered in Cambridge, CuspAI utilizes a generative AI platform to accelerate the discovery and development of new materials, aiming to shorten the discovery cycle of new materials through AI technology. Founded by former members of Google DeepMind, the company boasts a strong team of academic advisors. Previously, CuspAI completed a $100 million Series A funding round in September 2025 and recently signed a joint research contract with Hyundai Motor. If this funding round is successfully completed, it will significantly boost the company's valuation, reflecting strong investor interest in the "AI + Science" sector. Additionally, Temasek has recently indicated its intention to make strategic layout (Note: ' layout ' is translated as 'moves' or 'deployments' in context, but kept as pinyin here for accuracy; in a final version, consider 'strategic moves' or 'strategic deployments') in Asia.
