On April 6 (local time), Broadcom unveiled a long-term collaborative pact with Google, aimed at the joint development and provision of Tensor Processing Units (TPUs). As per the terms of this agreement, Broadcom will take charge of the research, development, and supply of Google's upcoming generation of bespoke TPUs. Moreover, Broadcom will also furnish networking solutions and other essential components for Google's latest AI server racks. This partnership is set to endure until 2031. Furthermore, Broadcom, Google, and the AI firm Anthropic are poised to broaden their collaborative efforts. From 2027 onwards, Anthropic is slated to benefit from roughly 3.5 gigawatts of computing power support via Broadcom, with the precise scale of utilization contingent upon its commercial success.
