A team hailing from the 'Institute for the Future of Human and Society' at Kyoto University in Japan has ingeniously devised a generative AI named 'Buddhist Robot Plus', specifically tailored to engage in insightful Buddhist dialogues. Building upon their prior achievements, the team had initially created a non-generative Buddhist conversational AI, aptly named 'Buddhist Robot', back in 2021. They further enhanced this endeavor by integrating Buddhist AR technology in the subsequent year, 2022. Now, they have taken a significant leap forward by introducing a tangible 'physical' dimension to their creation.
Leveraging the capabilities of Unitree technology products, the robot has been meticulously programmed to master an array of solemn and graceful movements. Moreover, it is fortified with the cutting-edge iteration of ChatGPT, empowering it to adeptly respond to inquiries by drawing upon Buddhist scriptures, thereby offering comprehensive explanations and supplementary insights. In its standard configuration, the robot boasts a youthful male voice, although both gender and age parameters are adjustable to suit diverse preferences. Furthermore, it seamlessly orchestrates speech recognition, response generation, voice synthesis, and body movement control, ensuring a harmonious and immersive user experience.
