On February 25, 2026, Chen Maobo, the Financial Secretary of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government, presented the government's fiscal budget for the fiscal year 2026 - 2027. He pointed out that with the swift progress of AI applications propelling industrial innovation and the continuous emergence of new technologies, industries, and products, Hong Kong will establish an "AI+ and Industrial Development Strategy Committee," which he will chair. This committee will take charge of formulating strategies aimed at driving industrial transformation and development through AI, thereby creating favorable conditions. It will extend invitations to experts, scholars, enterprises, and companies operating in industrial parks to participate. Initially, the committee will concentrate on the fields of life health and embodied intelligence.
