Mozilla officially rolled out the Firefox 148.0 update today, introducing AI control features to the browser that allow users to centrally manage or one-click disable all AI-related experiences. This update specifically targets users who do not wish to engage with AI functionalities, offering a global blocking option to completely disable all AI features, including smart translation, PDF text generation, AI tab grouping, link previews, and sidebar chatbots, while also preventing related pop-up prompts. Meanwhile, users can still enable specific AI tools on demand, such as third-party assistants like ChatGPT and Microsoft Copilot. Additionally, the update includes fixes for backup, accessibility, and drag-and-drop functionalities.
