On October 23, 2025, BGI Research and Zhejiang Lab collaboratively unveiled Genos, the world's inaugural deployable genomic universal foundation model that comes with a staggering ten billion parameters. This remarkable model is capable of performing ultra-long context analysis on millions of base pairs, facilitating precise identification at a single-base resolution level. The training data for this model encompasses a wide array of global populations. When it comes to interpreting pathogenic mutations, Genos attains an impressive accuracy rate of 92%. And when paired with a scientific foundation model, the accuracy rate soars to an astounding 98.3%.
