On Thursday, during a conference call, Accenture's CEO, Julie Sweet, announced that as part of the company's restructuring strategy aimed at prioritizing AI development, employees who are unable to be retrained in the artificial intelligence domain will face layoffs. She disclosed that Accenture has organized foundational training in generative AI for 550,000 of its employees. Additionally, the company has launched a six-month business optimization plan costing $865 million. This plan encompasses severance packages and associated expenses related to workforce reduction.
