The Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has announced that China is set to initiate a fresh round of the 'Open Competition for Leading Talents' program, harnessing the power of artificial intelligence to fuel new-type industrialization. This program is designed to identify, via innovative mechanisms, challenging, high-potential, and widely replicable scenarios within key industries pivotal to new-type industrialization. The aim is to foster joint innovation and collaborative breakthroughs, ultimately crafting a series of replicable and scalable new benchmarks for AI-driven new-type industrialization. The program will prioritize advancements in critical core technologies, bolstering the research and development of both general-purpose and industry-specific large models. It will also expedite the creation of high-quality datasets tailored to the industrial sector and encourage the profound integration of AI with the industrial landscape. Furthermore, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will roll out a dedicated AI+Manufacturing campaign, unveil guidelines for AI application in manufacturing firms, and consistently organize in-depth activities to empower new-type industrialization through AI.
