The United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) has declined Tesla's attempt to register 'Robotaxi' as a vehicle trademark, deeming the name overly generic. Conversely, Tesla's application for the same moniker as a trademark for ride-hailing services is still under consideration. Furthermore, Tesla's application for the 'Cybercab' trademark has been put on hold due to competing applications from other companies for similar 'Cyber' trademarks. Tesla has a three-month window to respond to the 'Robotaxi' trademark decision; failure to do so will result in the abandonment of the application. Simultaneously, the 'Robobus' trademark application is also in the review process.
