On April 15, Polestar officially announced in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) that it had reached a termination agreement with Xingji Meizu Group. The agreement outlines the dissolution of their joint venture in China, "Polestar Times Technology (China) Co., Ltd.", and the repatriation of distribution rights to Polestar. According to the terms of the agreement, the joint venture will be responsible for settling all outstanding financial obligations and remaining debts to business partners. Additionally, it will transfer digital and other assets at fair value to enable Polestar to seamlessly reinitiate sales, customer service, and distribution operations in the Chinese market. Polestar emphasized that this decision is grounded in strategic market considerations and affirmed its commitment to strengthening its presence in the Chinese market while preserving its premium brand identity.
