In an evening session on April 15, He Xiaopeng, CEO of XPeng Motors, unveiled a bold prediction: within the coming two decades, flying cars are anticipated to emerge as a significant complement to conventional transportation methods, potentially attaining 20% of the automotive market's commercial scale. XPeng Motors has been at the forefront of this revolutionary shift, having delved into the realm of flying cars over the past decade. The company has achieved in-house full-stack research and development, alongside autonomous control of four pivotal technologies. Last year, XPeng's "land aircraft carrier" flying car successfully completed its maiden manned flight at the China Airshow, securing a landmark global order record with nearly 4,000 bookings from mainland China. The company anticipates commencing mass production and delivery of this innovative flying car in 2026. Currently, XPeng has embarked on the construction of the world's first flying car manufacturing plant in Guangzhou, boasting an annual production capacity of 10,000 units.
