On April 15, XPeng Motors hosted the Global Passion Night event in Hong Kong, unveiling its 2025 global flagship model, the X9. He Xiaopeng, the founder of XPeng Motors, emphasized that AI will spearhead the global proliferation of intelligent driving capabilities for the company, and that its Turing AI Intelligent Driving System is already undergoing global adaptation. He noted that the extensive computational requirements of large AI models and the inefficient use of general-purpose computing power in off-the-shelf chips necessitated the development of a proprietary Turing AI chip to maximize computational resource utilization. Tailored exclusively for large AI models, this chip boasts a three-fold increase in computing power over existing chips. As the world's first chip capable of being deployed in AI robots, AI cars, and flying cars, it features a 40-core processor and the capability to run a local model with 30 billion parameters on a single chip. He Xiaopeng announced that the Turing AI chip will commence mass production in Mainland China in the second quarter of this year, with planned integration into XPeng vehicles.
