On April 14, BASF announced a significant investment of RMB 500 million in Shanghai to expand its operations in the polyurethane vibration damping components (Cellasto) sector. The groundbreaking ceremony for this expansion project took place at the BASF Shanghai Pudong Science and Innovation Park. This strategic move is designed to capitalize on the burgeoning growth prospects in China's electric vehicle market. The upcoming facility will feature a state-of-the-art mold production line and is anticipated to commence operations in 2027, marking a nearly 70% surge in production capacity.
