Since the start of this year, Li Auto has been actively expanding the external supply of several of its core technologies and is considering bringing in external investment for certain business sectors. The company’s self-developed Mach chips, Sikro Semiconductor (silicon carbide modules), and range extenders are now available for external supply.
To facilitate this, Li Auto has established independent companies for both the Mach chip and silicon carbide module businesses. Sikro Semiconductor, in particular, is planning to seek external funding, while the range extender system is also accessible to external customers. At present, Li Auto has no plans to make its self-developed batteries available for external supply.
The top management at Li Auto has given the green light for the chip business to be spun off. Already, embodied intelligence companies have entered into discussions with Li Auto about potential collaboration on the Mach chip. Whether this cooperation will materialize depends on the challenges associated with algorithm migration.
The Mach M100 chip, which was unveiled in June this year, is manufactured using a 5nm automotive-grade process and boasts a single-chip computing power of 1280TOPS. Since the second quarter, it has been integrated into multiple Li Auto vehicle models.
