CALB has once again found itself at the center of public scrutiny, this time due to concerns over battery quality. A significant number of GAC Aion S series vehicle owners have reported critical issues, including battery swelling, leakage, cell explosions, and even instances of sudden power loss while driving. According to complaint platforms, these problems predominantly affect vehicles that have accumulated mileage between 150,000 and 300,000 kilometers, strongly suggesting manufacturing flaws within the batteries themselves. In response, both CALB and GAC Aion have issued statements. CALB has pledged to offer complimentary inspection and repair services to affected car owners. Meanwhile, GAC Aion has taken additional measures by extending the battery warranty from 8 years/150,000 kilometers to 8 years/300,000 kilometers, enhancing battery big data monitoring, and providing free repairs, battery pack replacements, and subsidy services.
