On May 26th, news emerged that Hesai Technology-W (02525.HK) had recently made a significant announcement. The company revealed that its independently developed Fermi C500 chip has successfully secured the ISO26262 ASILB functional safety product certification from the internationally recognized certification body, SGS. This milestone positions the Fermi C500 as the world's inaugural RISC-V LiDAR main control chip to attain such certification. To date, Hesai has achieved AEC-Q automotive-grade certification for 21 of its self-developed chips, with a cumulative shipment volume reaching 230 million units. The company anticipates that this figure will surpass 300 million units by the end of 2026, solidifying its global leadership in cumulative deliveries of self-developed chips and semiconductor devices.
