NIO has officially announced that the battery swap network along the Hexi Corridor segment of the Silk Road is now fully operational. This route spans 1,739 kilometers and includes 20 strategically placed battery swap stations. The company anticipates that the entire Silk Road battery swap network will be fully connected by the latter half of this year. Once completed, NIO users will be able to embark on a seamless journey from any battery swap station nationwide, traveling the full length of the Silk Road and accessing all provincial-level administrative regions in mainland China through convenient battery swaps. This ambitious initiative is designed to align with and support the ‘Belt and Road’ Initiative, promote sustainable development, and facilitate the utilization of local clean energy resources. As of the current date, NIO has established a nationwide network of 8,855 charging and battery swap stations, comprising 3,842 battery swap stations and 5,013 charging stations. Notably, over 1,000 of these battery swap stations are located along expressways, providing extensive coverage across more than 550 cities. Since August of last year, NIO has also successfully connected 85 scenic charging routes, further enhancing the convenience and accessibility of electric vehicle travel.
