SAIC Motor has unveiled its production and sales figures for April, indicating that the company sold 328,841 vehicles during the month, marking a 12.66% decrease compared to the same period last year. For the period from January to April, the cumulative sales reached 1,301,589 vehicles, reflecting a 1.50% year-on-year decline.
Focusing on its major subsidiary brands, SAIC Volkswagen experienced a significant downturn, selling 40,000 vehicles in April, a 51.53% drop from the previous year. The cumulative sales from January to April stood at 229,940 vehicles, down 25.99% year-on-year.
SAIC General Motors also saw a decrease, with 34,793 vehicles sold in April, representing a 17.30% decline year-on-year. However, its cumulative sales from January to April increased by 3.33%, totaling 156,099 vehicles.
SAIC-GM-Wuling's sales performance was similarly affected, with 104,488 vehicles sold in April, a 30.80% decrease compared to the same month last year. The cumulative sales from January to April amounted to 432,207 vehicles, a 14.24% year-on-year decrease.
In contrast, SAIC Passenger Vehicles exhibited robust growth, selling 103,709 vehicles in April, a substantial 52.68% increase year-on-year. The cumulative sales from January to April reached 333,672 vehicles, up 44.01% from the previous year.
IM Motors also demonstrated impressive performance, with 10,016 vehicles sold in April, a remarkable 201.14% surge compared to the same period last year. From January to April, the cumulative sales totaled 23,867 vehicles, marking a 130.35% year-on-year increase.
