At Xiaomi’s Investor Day event, Lu Weibing, Partner and President of Xiaomi Group, shared insights into Xiaomi Auto’s globalization strategy. The company is set to solidify its position in the domestic market while simultaneously pushing forward with its global expansion ambitions. This year, Xiaomi Auto’s foremost objective is to achieve 550,000 vehicle deliveries within China. Looking ahead, the brand will make its European debut in the second half of 2027, marking the commencement of its global journey. By the first half of 2028, Xiaomi Auto plans to expand into right-hand drive markets.
Starting from February 2025, Xiaomi will initiate comprehensive overseas market research. Its expansion strategy will adhere to a phased approach: prioritizing high-end markets before mid-range ones, focusing on developed countries before emerging economies, and targeting left-hand drive markets before right-hand drive regions. Simultaneously, Xiaomi will promote a new retail model and establish a digital media marketing system to enhance its global presence.
The Xiaomi Europe R&D Center will play a pivotal role in providing technical support and ensuring localization adaptations for different markets. This month, Xiaomi further strengthened its global logistics and supply chain capabilities by hiring the former Senior Manager of Delivery and Operations for Tesla in Central Europe. These strategic moves underscore Xiaomi’s commitment to steadily advancing its global market layout.
