At around 9:00 PM on March 31, Luobo Kuaipao's Robotaxi vehicles, which were in operation in Wuhan, Hubei Province, suddenly experienced system failures, causing multiple vehicles to stop in the middle of the road. This resulted in passengers being trapped, rear-end collisions, and traffic congestion. The preliminary assessment indicates a system failure, with the specific cause still under investigation. This incident has exposed issues with Luobo Kuaipao's 'ten-fold safety redundancy' mechanism and emergency rescue system, highlighting deficiencies in systemic risk prevention and emergency response capabilities within the Robotaxi industry. As a pioneer and benchmark in China's Robotaxi sector, Luobo Kuaipao has achieved significant milestones but still faces challenges such as commercialization pressure and an unclear profit model. Previously, Luobo Kuaipao and other Robotaxi services have also encountered safety hazards. For the Robotaxi industry to achieve sustainable development, it must adhere to the principle of 'safety first,' maintain a firm safety bottom line (safety bottom line can be translated as 'safety bottom line ' or more naturally as 'commitment to safety'), and address existing shortcomings.
