Wang Fang, the Chief Scientist at the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC), announced that the draft for public comment on GB/T "Solid-State Batteries for Electric Vehicles—Part 1: Terminology and Classification" was finalized in December 2025. The feedback collection process will extend until February 28, 2026. During January and February, CATARC carried out verification tests aimed at refining methodologies and confirming key indicators. The standard is anticipated to go through review and approval in April, with an official release slated for July. This national standard will provide clear definitions for the terminology associated with liquid, hybrid solid-liquid, and solid-state batteries, aligning with international best practices and ensuring clarity across the industry.
