Zeekr Addresses Recall of Nearly 40,000 001 Models: Free Power Battery Replacements for Affected Vehicles

On February 9, Zeekr issued an official statement regarding the recall of 38,277 units of the 001 WE version. According to the company, certain Zeekr 001 WE 86 models manufactured between July 2021 and March 2024 exhibited inconsistencies in the production of internal power battery components from specific batches. Over prolonged use, these inconsistencies could lead to an abnormal increase in the internal resistance of the power batteries, potentially compromising battery performance and, in extreme cases, posing safety risks. Zeekr will carry out inspections or cloud-based remote diagnostics on the affected vehicles and provide free power battery replacements for those that have not yet had their batteries replaced.
