In January 2026, China's automotive sector maintained steady operations, with production and sales volumes reaching 2.45 million and 2.346 million units, respectively. Production experienced a marginal year-on-year increase of 0.01%, whereas sales saw a 3.2% decline compared to the same period last year. The new energy vehicle (NEV) market held its ground, posting a 2.5% year-on-year increase in production and a 0.1% rise in sales. The commercial vehicle segment continued its upward trajectory, achieving double-digit growth in both production and sales figures. Regarding automobile exports, the growth momentum persisted, with NEV exports surging to 302,000 units, marking a 100% year-on-year increase. In the inaugural month of the year, the government rolled out a series of policies aimed at benefiting both the public and businesses, ensuring a seamless transition of the 'two new' policies. The Work Plan for Accelerating the Cultivation of New Growth Points in Service Consumption served as a catalyst for invigorating market dynamics. The meticulous implementation of these policies is poised to bolster and rejuvenate demand within the automotive market, thereby fostering the stable operation of the entire industry.
