On Monday, Waymo, Google's renowned autonomous driving subsidiary, made headlines by announcing the commencement of its fully autonomous driving services in Nashville, Tennessee. Presently, Waymo boasts a fleet of over 2,500 self-driving vehicles that are actively operating across several key regions, including the San Francisco Bay Area, Los Angeles, Phoenix in Arizona, Austin in Texas, and Atlanta in Georgia. The autonomous driving sector has garnered significant attention from investors, as evidenced by Waymo's recent announcement last week that it secured a substantial $16 billion in funding. This investment has catapulted the company's valuation to an impressive $126 billion, marking a nearly threefold increase in its worth in less than two years.
