In the automotive industry, taillights are typically crafted from acrylic (PMMA) material. This material boasts excellent light - transmission properties and strong resistance to aging. However, it has a vulnerability: when it comes into contact with alcohol - based solvents, it tends to become brittle. Windshield washer fluid, a common automotive product, contains alcohol - based solvents. As a result, improper use of this fluid could potentially have an adverse effect on the taillights.
