China Automobile Association and Related Bodies: 43 Vehicle Models from 9 Companies Fulfill Five Automotive Data Security Compliance Criteria

Four entities, including the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, have jointly released a notice regarding the inspection of safety requirements for automotive data processing (fourth batch). In accordance with the "Provisions on the Administration of Automotive Data Security (for Trial Implementation)" and pertinent technical standards for information security, such as GB/T 41871 - 2022 "Information Security Technology - Safety Requirements for Automotive Data Processing" and GB/T 44464 - 2024 "General Requirements for Automotive Data", these organizations have been carrying out inspections on the data security compliance of automotive manufacturers' products since August 2025. The inspections are carried out under the principle of voluntary participation by enterprises.

The inspection encompasses five compliance criteria: anonymized handling of facial information outside the vehicle, onboard processing of cabin data, default non - collection of cabin data, clear notification for the processing of personal information, and appropriate accuracy ranges. The inspection results revealed that 43 vehicle models from 9 companies, namely Chongqing Changan, SAIC Motor, Beijing New Energy, GAC Aion, GAC Trumpchi, BYD, Chery Automobile, Changan Ford, and SAIC - GM - Wuling, satisfy the above - mentioned five automotive data security compliance criteria. (It should be noted that some models do not involve the requirement for anonymized processing of facial information outside the vehicle.)
