Recently, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology unveiled the initial batch of conditional approvals for L3-level autonomous driving models within China. Two all-electric sedans, specifically engineered for navigating urban traffic congestion and highway driving scenarios, are set to initiate on-road trials in designated zones of Beijing and Chongqing. This development heralds China's formal shift of L3-level autonomous driving from the experimental testing phase to practical commercial deployment.

Notably, the Changan sedan is tailored for the intricate urban road networks of Chongqing, boasting a maximum speed of 50 km/h. In contrast, the ARCFOX sedan is optimized for the expansive highways of Beijing, reaching speeds of up to 80 km/h. Throughout the trial phase, pertinent authorities will intensify their oversight of vehicle operations and implement stringent safety protocols to foster the high-caliber advancement of the intelligent connected vehicle sector.
