On December 16th (local time), Envision AESC made a momentous announcement: its cutting-edge battery megafactory in Sunderland, UK, has officially begun production. This new facility boasts an initial planned production capacity of 15.8 GWh. On an annual basis, it is poised to supply top-tier batteries for more than 200,000 electric vehicles produced by automakers like Nissan. This achievement positions it as the largest and most productive battery manufacturing base currently in operation across the UK.
Previously, Envision AESC already operated a battery factory in Sunderland, which had an annual production capacity of 1.9 GWh. The launch of this new factory marks a significant leap forward, dramatically boosting the UK's battery manufacturing prowess.
