Apple’s inaugural foldable phone, the iPhone Duo, is poised for its official debut on October 23, captivating attention with its concealed FaceTime front camera nestled beneath the 7.6-inch inner display. This milestone signifies Apple’s first foray into integrating under-display camera technology in a commercially available device, though details revealed by Apple are scant. The camera boasts a 4-megapixel resolution and is virtually imperceptible to the naked eye. However, its imaging capabilities fall short, producing photos with low resolution, muted colors, and blurred details, while video calls appear hazy. Users have the option to switch to the 12-megapixel front-facing lens on the outer screen or unfold the device to utilize the rear cameras for selfies. The iPhone Duo adopts a clamshell inward-folding design and is offered in two color variants: Starlight White and Night Sky Blue. The Chinese version starts at 15,999 yuan for the 256GB model. Powered by the A20 Pro chip and running on iOS 27.1, the device features an advanced camera system and a dual-battery setup, ensuring exceptional performance and extended battery life. Despite the iPhone Duo’s market popularity, app compatibility tailored to its unique features has yet to fully materialize.
