CAICT Report: September Sees 21.856 Million Mobile Phones Shipped in Domestic Market

According to data released by the China Academy of Information and Communications Technology (CAICT), the domestic mobile phone market witnessed shipments of 21.856 million units in September 2026, marking a year-on-year decline of 21.7%. Notably, out of these, 19.234 million units were 5G-enabled phones, experiencing a decrease of 20.2% and constituting 88.0% of the total shipments. During the first nine months of 2026, the cumulative domestic mobile phone shipments amounted to 189 million units, showing a year-on-year decrease of 14.1%. Among these, 171 million units were 5G phones, reflecting a decrease of 8.7% and accounting for 90.6% of the total.
