On October 16, the flight demonstration of the Tesla Roadster 2 ignited fervent discussions. He Xiaopeng, Chairman and CEO of XPENG Group, commented that while this showcases a captivating vision of flying cars, the successful realization of such a product hinges on multiple factors. These include flight safety, performance parameters, and endurance capabilities. Additionally, obtaining flight certifications (such as the Type Certificate, TC) is a prerequisite, a process that demands sustained global efforts. He expressed his hope for an expedited certification process.
It is reported that XPENG has been actively advancing its flying car technology and has strategically developed two major product lines. The "Land Aircraft Carrier" is tailored for personal low-altitude travel, offering a unique and accessible flying experience. Meanwhile, the new eVTOL model, A868, is engineered for multi-person long-distance journeys, promising efficient and comfortable air travel. To date, XPENG's flying cars have garnered over 7,000 pre-orders and are poised to commence mass production.
