The institution further anticipates that the global shipments of foldable smartphones will reach around 20.2 million units in 2026, experiencing a modest 0.5% uptick from the previous year. Excluding Apple from the equation, the combined shipments of Android-branded foldable smartphones are projected to reach roughly 15.2 million units in 2026, marking a year-on-year decline exceeding 20%. This downturn is primarily attributed to significant hikes in component costs, which have resulted in stagnant or declining shipments across various brands. Amidst this landscape, Samsung's foldable smartphone shipments are expected to reach approximately 7.1 million units, securing a 35.1% market share. Meanwhile, Huawei's shipments are estimated at around 5 million units, capturing a 24.8% market share.
