On September 10, Luo Yonghao took to social media to critique Apple’s newly announced foldable smartphone, the iPhone Duo. He used seven consecutive observations labeled as 'borrowed' to highlight that the device’s foldable design, under-display camera, short-and-wide screen ratio, side Dock feature, seamless transition between outer and inner screens, multi-angle suspension capability, and titanium 3D-printed hinge cover all appear to be inspired by existing technologies or designs in the market. He argued that while Apple’s decision to use a matte screen design to mask the creases on the inner screen was an original approach, it resulted in a blurry front camera. This, he claimed, required the front camera area to be polished separately, ultimately making the issue more noticeable—a move he described as 'polishing a turd.'

Luo Yonghao did, however, commend the animation effect when folding the iPhone Duo, calling it a genuinely original and visually appealing feature. He also expressed a sense of melancholy, noting that 25 days later would mark the 15th anniversary of Steve Jobs’ passing. He voiced his nostalgia and sadness over what he perceives as Apple’s current trajectory.

According to reports, the 256GB version of the iPhone Duo for the Chinese market is priced at 15,999 yuan, while the top-tier 2TB version will retail for 26,499 yuan. Pre-orders are set to begin at 8 PM on October 16, with official sales commencing on October 23.
