On September 9, it was reported that Apple's market value had skyrocketed by a staggering $570 billion over the summer. The newly appointed CEO, Ter Nas, now shoulders immense expectations as he gears up for what is arguably the company's most eagerly awaited event in recent years—the launch of the much-anticipated foldable iPhone, slated for release this Wednesday. Despite a disappointing showing on June 25, when the announcement of product price increases sent Apple's stock plummeting to its worst performance in over a year, the stock has since rebounded, climbing 15% thanks largely to market excitement surrounding new devices, especially foldable phones. Nevertheless, Apple's stock price still lingers about 7% below its all-time peak reached on July 28. Additionally, Apple is perceived as lagging in the artificial intelligence sector, a fundamental concern that has long troubled investors. In the near term, the stock's future course may hinge on several factors: the market's reception of the new iPhone, the company's adeptness in managing escalating memory costs, and the performance of Ter Nas, who took the helm from Cook on September 1. Morgan Stanley forecasts that the foldable iPhone will debut with a price tag ranging from $2,300 to $2,500, with estimated shipments of approximately 6.5 million units in the first fiscal quarter ending December. This is projected to generate around $14 billion in sales, accounting for 16% of the total anticipated iPhone revenue for that quarter.
