Huawei recently marked the first anniversary of its integration with the official data feed from the China Earthquake Early Warning Network, celebrating a significant milestone as the number of users utilizing its earthquake early warning service has surpassed 100 million. In the past year alone, the service has been activated over 60 million times.

In the latter half of the previous year, Huawei forged a strategic partnership with the China Earthquake Networks Center. Smartphones operating on HarmonyOS 6.0 and later versions were the pioneers in gaining access to this vital earthquake early warning service. The company has outlined plans to ensure all previous models are also integrated into the system by May 2026.

Leveraging cloud-terminal collaboration, this service ensures the swift, second-level delivery of early warning information. In the face of a significant earthquake, it promptly triggers full-screen alerts and alarm sounds, accompanied by essential risk avoidance guidelines, enhancing public safety and preparedness.

Following years of dedicated development, the China Earthquake Early Warning Network successfully completed its acceptance process in July 2024. It now stands as the world's largest earthquake early warning network, achieving an overall advanced global standing. To date, the network has served over 460 million public users and more than 100 industry-specific users. It has issued over 700 early warnings and provided services exceeding 90 million instances.

Moreover, the network has broadened its service reach to encompass mobile phones across various brands and models. It has also established a robust system for professional equipment network access testing and third-party broadcasting collaboration. This initiative has garnered the active participation of several central enterprises and leading market players in the industry, fostering a collective effort to drive the advancement of related sectors.
