On September 3 (local time), Park Jin-han, Director of Omdia, stated at the 2026 Omdia Korea Display Conference that, due to persistently high memory costs, Apple is set to continue selling its LCD-version MacBook Pro laptops at least until the end of 2027. The analyst noted that Apple is unlikely to undertake a rapid and wholesale transition of MacBook Pro displays to OLED technology. Instead, both LCD and OLED panels will be supplied concurrently, leading to Apple’s IT OLED orders being significantly smaller than earlier projections. According to Omdia’s analysis, demand for the OLED-version MacBook Pro is projected to reach only around 1 million units this year and is not expected to surpass 4 million units in the coming year—a stark contrast to the sales volume of its LCD counterpart.
