Recently, the topic of 'official price hikes for multiple smartphone models' skyrocketed to the top of Weibo's trending list, capturing widespread public attention. On September 1, major smartphone brands including Huawei, Xiaomi, and Honor simultaneously raised the prices of some of their flagship models, such as the Huawei Mate 80 series, Xiaomi 17 series, and Honor Power series. Specifically, the Huawei Mate 80 series experienced price increases ranging from 800 to 1000 yuan, the Xiaomi 17 series saw hikes between 200 and 500 yuan, and the Honor Power series went up by 500 to 600 yuan. The primary drivers behind these price increases are the constrained supply and elevated costs of memory chips. Moreover, it is projected that global smartphone shipments will witness a decline of approximately 7% year-on-year in 2026.
