Omdia research indicates that US PC shipments (excluding tablets) in the fourth quarter of 2025 increased by 3% year-on-year, reaching 18.2 million units, reversing the downward trend. Growth drivers include the peak of Windows 11 commercial updates, holiday season demand, and vendor inventory stockpiling. Annual shipments reached 71.5 million units, up 3% from 2024. However, due to memory and storage supply constraints, shipments are expected to decline by 13% year-on-year in 2026. Since early 2025, memory and storage costs have risen by 40% to 70%, with mainstream PC memory and storage costs set to increase by at least another 60% in the first quarter of 2026. Supply constraints will significantly impact the sub-$500 segment, potentially squeezing out smaller vendors.
