Previously, the AirDrop functionality integrated by Apple into iOS was automatically activated sans any verification process. This led to a situation where users could effortlessly receive files or images dispatched by unknown individuals in crowded settings, such as subways and buses. To tackle the problem of misuse, Apple has fine-tuned this feature. Now, the receiving function is disabled by default, permitting only contacts to initiate transfers. Users retain the flexibility to opt for receiving transmissions from everyone; however, this setting will automatically deactivate after a 10-minute interval to curb the dissemination of unsuitable content by strangers.
